HUAWEI || The Mate 30 Pro is here and comes with the services of ...Tech Blog Pro

Much has been speculated about the Mate 30 Pro, which is the first Huawei smartphone to arrive in Colombia without Google Services but ... calm down, before readers panic and run in terror, there are several things to analyze.

Mate 30 Pro

Over the years, there have been surprises at every Huawei launch, and in this case, it is no exception! The Mate 30 Pro has generated countless looks, opinions, and various questions.

Given that the brand went from being one of “the colors” (as they are colloquially called in football to those who are in the queue, last) to an honorable second place (in terms of the number of terminals sold worldwide) in the matter of the blink of an eye. And, unfortunately, it has been involved in the novel with the United States Department of Commerce, which is why it has had to accelerate the process of including Huawei Mobile Services (whose abbreviation is HMS) in Mate 30 Pro instead of Google Services.

And what does that mean? The Mate 30 Pro is going to be another paperweight? Am I not going to have Apps to use the smartphone?

The truth, I had many doubts about it and, for the same reason, I decided to go through the configuration process of the Mate 30 Pro with the help of David Moreno from Huawei, all to know first hand if, indeed, I was going to have to go through my data through a rabbit hole (in the best Alice in Wonderland style) or, if the process was going to be fairly normal and fluid.

Coming back to reality, the results of the process were simpler than I expected! I didn't have to install a bunch of unknown APKs, or go through dubious websites, or call the very trusted programmer known Kotlin and Android Studio right and back… in short: nothing too extraordinary had to be done!

The process was quite similar to that of cloning a smartphone through the app called Phone Clone, which has long been per-installed on Huawei smartphones. The only advisable thing is, before starting the process, check that the app is updated to the latest version, from then on, just select the things that need to be passed from one device to another.

Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and similar apps flow from one side to the other without any friction. Now, I am aware that, surely, the most knowledgeable of the matter will "tear their clothes" and, to emphasize the fact of not being able to transfer any Google App, but also, it is good to remember that there is still the possibility of using the Web versions of them. Which, although it is not the most comfortable, it is an option to use several of the most popular applications such as Gmail, YouTube, Netflix, and others that currently have an associated “beto”.
